Sweetie, I'm not referring to people who actually take Ritalin to help them. I'm talking about people who pop it as a quick high. ;) (And people do do that, unfortunately.)

I mean no offense.

*sips coffee* Well I just had an entire container of Zoloft so I should be feeling great until about late March...

Taking excessive amounts of Zoloft would have a similar effect as taking excessive amounts of Ritalin, dude. They're both considered stimulants.

Speaking of all that... I recently took some Dexamethasone to help me recover from wisdom teeth removal... and I'm 95% sure that it gave me constant hiccups for two full days. Darn steriods!

Isn't Zoloft hormones or something like that? I've never really had to take it, I'm usually a really perky person... on the outside.

Anyway, back to our exciting mystery!

*All the lights in the cafe go out and a gunshot is heard, followed by another and a series of stabbing noises*

My god, I just took an hour of my life setting up my shop. Which is probably doomed to fail.

Hey! I felt that bullet go dangerously close to my precious Pom! You mystery-type people better be more careful! You wouldn't want me to resort to something like hiring out Ninjas to come after you, because even if you pulled another one of those nifty light-tricks, there's no way you'd get away from Ninja!

Don't feel that way! At least if your shop does fail, you can take out your anger by using your shop goods on random pedestrians that pass by your shop... That always worked for me... Except the time I had a gas station that no one would stop at... They didn't like it when I attacked them with gasoline... *sigh* Oh well...

Yeah... same thing here, except my store sold moogle-candy and ribbons. When I attacked everyone, they just thanked me and no longer were affected by status ailments like Poison and Berserk.

Zoloft is an SSRI (Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitor). Basically what it does is stimulate the brain to balance out Serotonin (a neurotransmitter), which in cases of deprsesion and anxiety is believed to be lacking.

Er, sorry. o-o; I could rant for hours about medicine and health.

Muro lazily looks up. He was almost dead asleep on the table before the noise and Kedik. "I don't know... I'm to tired to move right now. I feel like I'm a vegetable." Muro still musters up the strength to take a drink of alcohol before closing his eyes. "Just don't worry about it. They probably don't even know where this palce is..." A small snore is heard after he drifts off.

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"Roger, Alpha team, we have a visual. They're both there." In a not-too-unfamiliar scene, a spotter armed with a high-powered bipod scope lay below the brush, along the treeline that cornered the cafe against a short cliff. His scope peers into a window of the newly built cafe, and has Kedik and Muro square in its sight. Muro looked more than drunk, unless he had developed a fondness for sleeping face-down on tables. "All right, people, let's move." The spotter abandons his scope, stands, and draws a semi-automatic handgun as he walks slowly out of his cover.

On que, eight fully equipped soldiers--each one armed with a submachinegun--rise around the edge of the forest and sprint silently towards the cafe. They take up positions around all three doors. One soldier backs up near a window and pulls a small canister off his vest. Before pulling the pin, he whispers over the team comm. "Fire in the hole!" The pin comes off and the grenade finds itself crashing through a wall of glass before rolling to a stop on the floor inside, near some unlucky soul's feet. There is a sudden, riveting bang and a bright flash of pure white light. To the observer on the outside, it lasts as long as a flash of lightning, but to anyone inside the cafe, it renders their vision virtually useless for a good several seconds. All that would be needed.

"GO!" The team kicks in all three doors simultaneously and charges in, weapons raised. Before anyone can regain their sight, let alone bearings, the men shout orders. "Everyone, on the floor, NOW!!"

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Muro looks up and screams, falling back in his chair. He pulls Kedik down and pushes the table over and panics, clinging to Kedik. "What do we do? I'm scared! I-!" Muro realizes he has a gun and takes it out of the holster, looking at the large revolver. "Oh.. I remember now. Hehehe." He sighs, trying to sober up and peeks over the table.

Kedik falls out of the chair he's in. "What the?! What's going on?" He wonders why these guys are here? Are they here for them? Nah, couldn't be.

One does wonder... why are these people here, screeching at everyone and waking me up.

And why would they be on the cieling? Or wait...

Well, I would get on the floor good sirs... But it seems that while I had nodded off, one of my coleagues taped me to the cieling!

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

One patron fails to drop to the floor, so a soldier helps him down. "God dammit, get on the GROUND!" A firm whack with the buttstock of his SMG forces the stubborn man down on his hands and knees. Another soldier takes notice of Kadino's predicament and assumes he won't be doing much from there. "Shut up!" The rest of the room complies and lies face down with their hands over their heads--Apparently the men with automatic weapons made a strong case. This left Muro and Kedik as the only two still standing, though that couldn't be made out through the overturned table. "You, behind the table! Are you deaf? On the floor, plain sight! Now!"

Cloud 07-26-2004 11:43 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Muro lays his gun next to Kedik and crawls from behind the table, inspecting the situation. Kedik and Muro knew the drill. "I'm here and do whatever you want with me just don't kill me!" He begins to cry fakely and very annoyingly.

Da_#1_Link 07-26-2004 11:46 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Kedik stayed behind the overturned table, watching Muro. His mind started racing, and his pulse quickened, as did his breathing. He reached for his gun, and took it out slowly.

Fury Three 07-26-2004 11:48 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

The soldier steps forward, his SMG pointed square at Muro's chest. "I want you to get on the floor, right now!" He takes another step forward, bringing him within swinging range, and launches a jab at Muro's jaw with the shoulderstock of his weapon.

By now the spotter moves into the building, taking up his position behind three soldiers, his pistol held in Muro's direction.

Cloud 07-26-2004 11:52 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Muro grins dumbly and is tossed back by the power of the hit. He looks around to see all the guns pointed at him and he slowely lowers himself to the ground, twitching his fingers in a signal.

Da_#1_Link 07-26-2004 11:54 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Kedik took this as a cue. He jumped up and let off a bullet into the throat of a guy, then again in another guy. His quick-draw skills really helped him here. Then with another hand, he took Memory and tossed it to Muro. Afterwards, Kedik dived back behind the table for cover.

Cloud 07-26-2004 11:58 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Muro caught his revolver and quickly shot out the knee caps of the man who hit him. He then shot another in the shoulder twice and dove with Kedik behind the table. "Did you have to shoot him in his wind pipe?"

Fury Three 07-27-2004 12:06 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Two men drop, spewing blood from the small weak point between their vests and helmets. Muro's assailant literally has his legs thrown out from under him by the force of the bullet impacts, and he crashes to the ground. His other target flinches and stumbles back from the pair of shots, but his nylon vest had stopped them dead. All at once, five submachineguns open fire on the table, riddling it with puffs of smoke. With an overkill of cover fire down, the team flips two tables of their own and three duck behind them. The remaining two stand behind and continue to lay fire down.

"Damn." The spotter didn't expect a firefight. In about no time flat this had gone really bad, three men down. Now it was only becoming worse because they were too fond of handing out those stupid SMGs. He flips a table of his own and peers over the top, his handgun trained on the enemy's cover.

Da_#1_Link 07-27-2004 12:14 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Kedik covers his head as their table is shot at. He smiles as it stops the bullets in their tracks. TLC tables are real sturdy. He looks over at Muro. "Because your ****ing guy didn't die when you shot him. These people are from some sort of army, they DO have protection. Gotta get them where it hurts." Kedik takes a chance, and without looking out starts shooting in random directions.

Cloud 07-27-2004 12:16 AM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Muro took out the shells from his gun and tossed them behind the table at the soldiers. The bullets hit the ground and after a few seconds, explode around them. He loads his 6 shooter up again and uses the distraction to send a few shots into the soldiers before ducking again.

The unusual distraction stuns the two standing men and they stumble back, in time to recieve Muro's short volley. Miraculously, both of his shots find their marks in the soldier's unprotected upper arms, forcing their weapons away.

Cloud 07-27-2004 09:44 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Muro takes a look around and realizes the odds of the situation. He sighs, annoyed as more bullets begin to rip into the table. "We need to get out of here. Machine guns aren't like pie. They don't taste good." Muro peeks out again and shoots a gunner in the throat, ducking back down. He aims his Memory at a window to the far side of them. "You hold them off, I'll get us a car."

Da_#1_Link 07-27-2004 09:49 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Kedik nods to Muro, and reaches for his trusty shotgun. "Never fails." He waits for them to stop shooting, then he jumps up and notices there's only three people left including the spotter. He cocks the shotgun, and quickly shoots one of the guys in the helmet, shattering the glass. Kedik dives back down again.

Fury Three 07-27-2004 09:56 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Another one drops to the ground, left to gasp in vain through a shredded esophagus. The remaining two continue to fire around the sides of their tables, until Kedik nearly decapitates the one on the left. Instinctively, the last soldier recoils behind his cover.

While Kedik had been engaging the two, the spotter had vanished.

***

"What a failure..." He looks back from the treeline, then steps into the forest. He knows he's left the last man for dead.

Cloud 07-27-2004 10:01 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Muro sends shot after shot at the reinforced glass of TLC, each bullet exploding forcefully. After 4 bullets, Muro darts from behind the table and dives through the blass onto a car. To his convenience, it was a Jaguar. He gets in the seat and begins to hotwire the vehicle.

Da_#1_Link 07-27-2004 10:08 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Kedik smiles as he's left alone with one other guy. He runs out from behind his table, to another one thats nearby, but closer to the guy. Then he does this again, getting closer. He positions himself so he's behind the guy, who he sees hasn't noticed Kedik move from behind the first table. Kedik jumps on the guys back, hitting him in the back of the neck with the revolver(he put the shotgun away). He then puts him into submission, knocking his submachinegun away so that he doesn't have any firearms(or it looks that way) and Kedik continues to take off his helmet. He doesn't know who the guy is, and this angers him further. He begins to beat him, before asking, "Who sent you?!"

Fury Three 07-27-2004 10:20 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

The soldier only smirks weakly at him, accepting defeat. With his right hand, he slowly draws a tiny device from his thigh pocket and jabs one end into his leg. Immediately, he convulses, defiantly staring Kedik in the eyes, and falls limp.

***

The business end of a semi-automatic presses up against the back of Muro's head, followed by the click of it's hammer. "Game over."
